steered is something in between, it can be 1/99 to 99/1
carved is to use the speed/momentum while on high edge angle to turn following the side cut of the skis
my understanding is that skidded is the twist (for lack of a better word) of skis to change their direct in turn the motion direction

是不是很明显是大学刚毕业的?:D
omg, pitch, yaw & roll.
since I don't believe in perfect carving, everything is a balance of the 3 motions, though I do believe the fore/aft should be eliminated
and the fore/aft adjustment is pitch along axis of skis
in (my understanding of) physics, pivoting is the yaw about the body axis, edging is the roll about the edge of ski(s)
I think the turn type is the result of actions. pivoting is an action, edging is another, and there are many other actions
