对于一个racer来说，因为他们唯一的追求就是两个字：速度，任何可能会使速度降低的滑法都会被consider成为inefficiency。但是作为一个instructor, 我们有必要教每一个滑雪者都要滑的像racer那样吗？显然是不现实的，更加不可能的。pivoting是一项很有用的skill，虽然可能会搓雪，但是对于绝大多数滑雪者来说，能在陡坡上控制速度，not out of control，not out of balance是最重要的，而不是像racer那样do everything you do to maximize your speed。
