Really good journal Snow! I have seen Salmon run in BC it is spectacular! In Ontario I saw some 20 + Salmon doing their run in Dufferin river at the Seaton Trail last Sunday as I was hiking. These fish are from Lake Ontario. It is of course not like the BC runs. Near Salmon Arm the scenery is so beautiful. I like Sushwap lake a lot. They used to have barge going from town to town on the lake if you have the time to take the trip. I remember the first time we travelled through that area it was like a scene from Heaven. In Revelstoke I think there was a museum or monument to commemorate the building of the CP rail. In 1985 I think there was a ceremony to re-enact the Last Spike by CP - many Chinese labourers were instrumental for the completion of the railway through the Rockies section. Many of them died during the construction. I attended that ceremony and was very moved. I still have that commemorative T shirt and the commeorative "spike" from CP (Canadian Pacific). You can visit the musium or monument if it is still there.
