freestyle mogul skiing and technical skiing and ski racing are foundamentally the same. The slipping turn is to practice control of balance, edge and pressure, similar acts exists in technical skiing (i.e. CSIA braquage turn) and ski racing (slipped slalom turns). Use of outside ski may not be as much as skiing on groomed, it has more grip and control, and serves a a safenet to fall back on when the skier trembles a little. And all high performance skiers would prefer to be centred on their feet skis (i.e. racing, CSIA centred balance ... the mobile part is only for when you fall off the centre to get back) Both slalom racing and freestyle racing avoid the perfectly rounded turns for better speed, the turn shapes similar to that of a comma is preferred. the a/e on mogul affects the visual of turning.
The mogul skis are relatively straight similar to that of the U18 FIS GS skis, typically ranging between low to mid 20s, i.e. F17 WC 175cm is about 24m, RC4 WC GS 174CM is about 24m also
