It's because you are still a newbie:-)
When you ski, you try your very best following the images in your mind how lvl4 skis.
It's nature for people to think that "ok, I tried my best and I should be close enough if I'm still not there yet...
but the reality is cruel.....no matter how hard we try, we are still far far far far off compared to lvl4s.
Just watch more and then you'll get to use to how you ski:-)
Then you'll even be able to find out something here and there you actually do right in the video:-)
Tell you a story, in my lvl1 exam, there was a video session.
Andrew told us, ok, don't do advanced skiing in this video session, do it like you are demo-ing basic parallel to beginners.
well, I took what he said serious, just skied casually down the slope.
Then in the video analysis session, Andrew said, this is no good, not your real level, what the hack is going on (of course he did say exactly like that, but I know what he truly meant).
THen I realized that I was wrong of "casual skiing/advanced skiing", it's so different from a lvl4 perspective and mine.
My die-hard try of advanced parallel may still be not as dynamic as a casual skiing of a lvl4.
And it was TRUE, Andrew skied last, really "casually", but I can see all sort of angulation, flex.......much much much better
than what I could do best.
A hard lesson learned for me, the best we can do is still not-perfect basic parallel, no matter how hard we try.
Your real level is always below what your expect.
Just keep this in mind (I always do): the video does not lie, this is how you ski on the slope, you are not a lvl4
V laoda once mentioned to me : in lvl4 eyes, we are just a bunch of kids playing sands - basically we are not even skiing, we are just playing...........
