PT wrote a great article back then.  In ontario you can go to a free Skills Day for assessment before you take the Level 1 course.  This is very useful for those who are asking questions on whether they are ready for Level 1 or not.

The first one is on Dec 13 so it may be too late for those who have signed up to do level 1 before that or on that day.
