Bravo Bravo Smellfish!   So well written so touching!   Love it !   We all have parents and it is really hard to express "true feeling" to your own parents - within the Chinese cultures that we are brought up with.  However, got to do it!  I did it when my father was old and was getting cranky ( maybe he was getting senile).   I told him point blank that I love him and I wanted to see him ( have to fly back to Edmonton to see him) (despite all my fights with him when I was younger).  He understood.   I thought he appreciated it.  Wonderful prose SF!  Very inspirational.

Then talking about walking road tree - I like to share this with you.  I was walking on the side walk a couple of weeks ago.  All the trees are starting to bud again after the long winter.  Sunddenly I realize I have lived in this neighbourhood close to 30 years and I do not know the names of all the trees on the block.   I felt so apologetic and say this summer I have to find out what is the name of each tree on the block.  They have been providing Oxygen to all of us living here and we did not care to find out who they are!   The thing or people that are closest to you, sustain you, we do not always appreciate!   Got to know them better.
