@Stormrider, I got to try 2 pairs. The first, a Fischer Motive 76 (I think) was the first moderately rockered pair of skis I have been on. It felt very strange at first, felt like I need to pull the skis further back under my feet to get a response. Once in motion, they felt good, but perhaps a tad short, I skied the 165cm and 170cm would be a better fit. Then they put me on an Atomic Smoke Ti, standard cambered. This one I didn't like at all. I made two runs and couldn't wait to get'em off my feet - not responsive at all to my skiing. I would have liked to try the Line and Hart and Head, but I didn't have enough time. All in all, I am not ready to get a rocker/reverse cambered pair of skis yet. Might be good for deeper snow than what we get here, they don't feel very nice on ice at all. A few more years for my Dynastar Contact Limited groomer skis yet! With perhaps a lighter pair of mogul skis to add to my quiver.
My wife tried the Fischer Zephyr. It has a "flex.it" flexibility adjustment dial which sounds like a gimmick but apparently works well. She seems more dynamic skiing them after a run to get used to it. Her everyday skis are K2 One Luv. |
