TOWN OF COLLINGWOOD TO HOST 2012 ONTARIO WINTER GAMES

在加拿大，很多华人喜爱的运动都是冬季项目
明年蓝山一定挺热闹滴。。。呵呵。。。。。。。。。。。。。。

2010 ONTARIO WINTER GAMES 有以下这些项目， 2012年在蓝山脚下，应该能看到同样的竞赛

The Town of Collingwood has been chosen as the host of the 2012 Ontario Winter
Games by the Sport Alliance of Ontario. The Town will partner with facilities in outlining communities including The Blue Mountains, Wasaga Beach, Clearview Township, and Midland. The Games will take place between the dates of March 5th - 12th, 2012.
“Collingwood is delighted to be a participant in the 2012 Ontario Winter Games and I wish all the athletes and coaches every success.” said Collingwood Mayor Sandra Cooper. “Collingwood shines in hosting world class sporting events as we are known for our generous spirit and I am very proud of our volunteers and Community. I look forward to welcoming you in March of 2012”
Blair McIntosh, Director of Games for the Sport Alliance of Ontario said “The Town of Collingwood has a strong history of hosting successful sporting events including the Ontario Winter Games. “They have a tradition of having a strong athlete
centred focus”. We are confident that the care and comfort of the participants will be
a priority and we look forward to working with the Organizing Committee on hosting a
very successful 2012 Ontario Winter Games.”
The Ontario Games are the largest multi-sport event in the province, with over 3,500 athletes competing in a number of sports. The Games provide athletes under 22 with development and competitive opportunities that will prepare them for national and international competition.
“It takes tremendous effort, dedication and commitment to stage an event like this one, and past experience demonstrates that the Town of Collingwood will be an excellent host. The Ontario Winter Games provide an opportunity for Ontario athletes to sharpen their competition skills and will inspire Ontarians to get active through sport.” --Minister of Health Promotion and Sport, Margarett Best
The 2012 Ontario Winter Games will be funded by the Ministry of Health Promotion
through the Sport Alliance of Ontario, the Town of Collingwood and various other
funding sources.

I have never been able to get over this that in Canada Table tennis is listed in Winter Games ( not just Ontario but the all canada winter games as well). I guess it is true when it gets too cold in the winter you stay in door to do table tennis!!

2010 ONTARIO WINTER GAMES就是为这次比赛选拔运动员的。

所以2012 ONTARIO　WINTER GAMES应该为2013CANADA　WINTER　GAMES选拔

You guys can go for badminton - only young people for these winter games. My nephew had participated years ago as a representative in table tennis from Alberta. You need to make the Alberta team (provincial team) to go.

there's no chance at all for me to make it to the provincial team, I'm just a recreational player.

Up to now, my badminton skill level is the same as my ski level based on the
classifications defined in two sports:-) both range from level 1 to 9, 9 being the highest.
