Bill C-389 如果通过了，公共洗手间还能安全吗？

就我所知是,性別可由自己決定，並不由出生而決定！
所以通過的話，可能的情況是，若有男人宣稱自己是女性，那 他/她 就會跑到女生廁所去了！

唉！目前這bill居然已通過安省二讀了！

估计要那种做了变性手术后，确实已经人工成功改造成了异性，并且领了证明后才行吧

如果有人认为自己不男不女的话，那岂不是可以男厕女厕想进哪个就进哪个了？

Correction :  This is a federal bill not a Ontario bill.   This is before the Pariliament in Ottawa not here in Toronto.

I actually do not know much about this.  I believe this Bill is to amend the Canadian Human Rights Code - this code applies to all federal insitutions ( like federal government) and federal regulated businesses and services ( like banks, trains, airline etc). But it does not appliy to provincial governement and provincial regulated business and services ( like hospitals, schools, etc)  The Code prohibits discrimination for certain groups.  Right now, the groups protected are under sex, religion, race, sexual orientation, national origin, age, etc.  ( I do not have the list in front of me).  The Bill will amend the Code to include one more ground (or grounds) like trans-gender ( and another one which I do not remember).  I think trans gender means you are of a certain gender but you feel like another gender.  The most often heard expression is like " I am a woman but trapped in a man's body" or vice versa.  Now, people have gone through medical treatment and surgery to change their sex.  Like from man to woman or vice versa.  I believe after you change your gender you can legitimately say you are the other sex now and utilize all the places reserved for the other sex.  The Canadian Human Rights Code will protect them under that sex if necessary, or if challenged.  However, some people who did not do the medical transformation cannot.  The  Bill is to amend the Code so that these people can be protected under the Code.   

The above is I think what the matter is about.      Hope that helps the understanding.

谢谢，SNOWSBRING。看来是加拿大人权宪法的修正案，把变性人也包括进出了。可以想象这个人群在社会中最受歧视。有一次在医院里上班，COVER同事，同事去BREAK前，再三嘱咐，如果进了病房，发现一男病人，千万不要叫MR, 要叫MS. 好在病房有private的单间给她，如果没有单间病房，这该犯难了。如果这个修正案也实用与省属的服务机构，这个病人就住女病房呢？
