When April comes around, most of city folks/flatlanders would think that the skiing season is over. Actually, it is quite the opposite, warm temperatures and comfortable weather, spring skiing is actually quite enjoyable, and trails are smooth, soft, and no ice, really a good time to enjoy cruising the trails.
When April comes around, most of people down mountains would think that skiing season is over; in fact, far from it, spring skiing, imo, is one of best time to enjoy skiing. Mild weather, warm temperatures, so we don’t have to dress up heavily; the soft and smooth surfaces have no bumps, no icy/hard bottom to worry about, and the snow is slick and fast, really pleasant to ski on. Due to the snow freeze and throw cycles, the snow is [very] icy in the morning, and slushy in the afternoon, there is two hour window (somewhere between 11am to 2pm) where snow conditions are perfect for skiing. Catch it and enjoy.
