Just returned from Patrick Chan's Gala. A lot of fun! There was also very nice silent auction and I bid and won a pair of snowshoes with poles msrp for $250. My bid was 90 dollars. What a steal! I have to do some snowshoeing this winter now.
I plan to snowshoe walk up Tremblant this season. It would be interesting to see all the skiers sBers coming down - a different perspective I expect.

Yes I am checking on their website re: snowshoeing. I have seen people snowshoeing up the trails when i ski down. I do not know if it is actually permitted. I will not be taking the lifts. Just walking my way up - all the way. There are guided tours and trails for snow shoeing around the mountain where snowshoeing is permitted. In fact they have guided tours. That might be good to a start off. I have not done snowshoeing before but would like to try it.

i can join you if timing works. i am not very experienced at this but i do not believe you need a guide or trainer to be able to snowshoe. it is just like walking -- only that the steeper the slope, the better your snowshoes have to be.
Yeah ! Definitely looking forward to that. I will find out about more where one can go in Tremblant.
I am in luck. HPSC will have two Tuesday nights snowshoeing right in the city - one in Jan and one in February next year.
