标题: 儿子的钢琴比赛,圆满完成.

取得一金(肖邦)一铜(贝多芬)的成绩.
去年参加了一个有关上大学的讲座,说钢琴考级对申请奖学金没有帮助,比赛(不管什么级别)得奖才有帮助.
于是报名参加了上周大多地区最顶级的钢琴比赛.达到了参赛的初衷.上大学申请奖学金时可以写上了.

接下来全力冲刺4月份的ARCT表演级的考试.可惜的是考级结束,雪季也结束了,儿子也没机会滑雪了.

很后悔没准备,只是用手机录的.

Bravo ! Bravo! Bravo! Xinxinqui!  Your son is a wonderful pianist!

I really enjoyed his Etudes by Chopin.  They are extremely difficult in fingering.  I tried to play the Etude #3 ( I think E major)  - no problem with the slow part - a nice study in touch but the second theme is a real trial for chromatic passages.  Your son did very well indeed. The second Etude your son played the #5 in G flat major is a real Chopin piece of genious. The left and right hands are talking to each other in nice replies.  It is delightful to hear this vivace piece.  I love the Beethoven piece too - the Moonlight Sonata.  I guess you can only play two movements probably due to the competition rules.  The last movement is nicely played with great fingering. I played it in my younger dates but I find the last movement very exerting for me especially when you have small hands.  The octaves kill you.
Congratulations on your son's success.  He is only 17 (right?  Going to U next year) It takes great parents to nurture such success for your son.  I hope to hear him play one day - the Pathetique, the Appassionata, the many beautiful tunes from Lizst and Chopin. Xinxinqui congratulations indeed!

Do not feel that way. Your kid will be the greatest gift to you. You can guide him/her along but it is up to the child to see what if he/she likes to achieve. As long your child is kind, honest and is a loving and caring person he/she has achieved the best in life - and you as a parent. Everything else is gravy. There should not be pressure that your kid has to win something. It will come naturally as he/she develops confidence and know where he/she wants to go in life. Even if she/he does not win something, your love for the child will be the most wonderful thing they can experience as they grow. If you inspire confidence in your child she/he will develop on their own. You are nurturing a seed that is all. You can be proud of them and proud of yourself for having raised a good kid. I always remember my parents although they are gone now. That's what they did. They never require me to win anything but they keep instilling me with confidence and let me find my own way. There is never any pressure for me to do well. However, I feel that they appreciate my effort to do well and always gave me words of encouragement. In my mind I will always remember and love them, even now as I am growing old. I remember I did my Level 1 in march 2000 and I dedicated that to my Dad who passed on in February that same year. My dad was strong and big and I am small and weak. I said to him in my heart: "Dad you would be proud of me - a tiny little dunkie and yet I was able to ski and passed my exam". Good luck on your exam soon Arroga and we will all be proud of you!

还记得老齐在犹他对儿子横挑鼻子竖挑眼的样子，以为你是个严父呢，没想到还是很慈爱的，儿子考试，还在门缝外给稳稳得录下，真好看更好听！

SNOWSPRING看来是行家,儿子这次报名参加的两项比赛的曲子,你老都准确地说出了名字,真厉害.
我是直到现在通过问儿子,看他的报名表才弄明白.

儿子弹的是BEETHOVEN的SONATA#14 OP27NO2(MOONLIGHT 1&3 MOVEMENT)
CHOPIN的ETUDE OP 10 NO3 & NO5.
比赛要求是弹每位作曲家一慢一快两段.

比赛基本集中了大多地区及周边地区最顶尖的孩子.儿子参加的是十级(INTREMEDIATE),之上还有
表演级(SENIOR)的选手.多数选手都是参加过无数次的比赛.我儿子第一次参加,能取得这样成绩,当可满意.
最重要的是儿子顶住了巨大的压力,发挥了他最高的水平.很难能可贵.

下面说说为什么顶住了压力一事.
上周三,是9:50AM开始比赛贝多芬的曲子(共19位),儿子组5人先比,5人比完后由Adjudicator一起点评.5人中Adjudicator对儿子的评价很高,用了很多的EXCENENT.可晚上上网看结果,只得了铜牌,而同组的有金牌和银牌.我们都很失望,晚上儿子练琴,明显有情绪上的波动.
第二天3:50PM比肖邦的,儿子很好地克服了心理的影响,比平时弹的还要流畅些.终于以第二名的成绩拿了金牌.

09年9月份,儿子通过的10级.09年的11月份儿子参加菲律宾洪灾赈灾义演.当时他弹了三首曲子.值得一提的是,最后的一首曲子是他自己作的--------最先是为苦难的阿富汗人民所做的.(从5:03"处开始的)

能自己作曲，太厉害了！
说说你是咋培养的呀？是他自己有兴趣还是你严厉啊？我家四月勉强到8级就无论如何不肯弹了。她说她就不喜欢压力，就想having fun。但是没压力咋能出成绩呢？
