标题: 突然有些感慨
不算圣诞节的trip，本雪季在BM只滑了两次。看看那些住在犹他的同雪，整天在powder里打滚，嫉妒的不行，真想搬去犹他了。

To go or not to go ?  Both are good choices.  We come to intersection in the road of life  and you have to be the one to make the choices!

I went to the PD day for the Ontario CSIA at Georgian College and I heard the talk by Scott Kress.  He is a level 2 instructor, a mountain climber and a professor in management and has a master degree in leadership.  It was so inspiring.  He talked about his experience in climbing the Everest in 2008 and how he was able to succeed among all adversities. His motto is to "live in the sphere of influence" and not the "sphere of concern". To live in the sphere of influence is to do things you are able to do given the circumstances and to live in the sphere of concern is to worry yourself with things you cannot control.  The latter saps your energy as you have nothing but negativity left and when the opportunity comes, because you have spent too much time in the negative zone, your mental is no longer there to deliver the success you are longing for.  he used the climbing the Everest as an illustration of how they were able to succeed by living in the sphere of influence.

It was the best 45 dollars I spent - attending the PD day.  I find skiing not just physically interesting - learning about techniques etc., enjoying the scenery, breathing in the fresh air and good company,  but I find the mental part of skiing even more interesting. It opens up the way for me to think about how to manage my life.

树挪死，人挪活，有时候一个地儿呆久了就寻思着挪窝了。

现在攀珠峰，不光要体力，毅力，还要有财力。非常佩服所有能登顶或尝试登顶的人。

Not only that  Scott Kress is climbing the last of the 7 summits of the world.  He has climed all the highest points of the seven continents except Antartica which he is going this year. He is quite an inspiring person.  I feel that I have learned a lot from him and his lecture.

You may wish to apply his principle in doing whatever you decide to do. Moving is good in the sense that you will have new experiences, new challenges, making new friends, broaden your expereince in life etc. - plus the western snow whcih you enjoy.  You never know.  Moving out west may eventually bring you back to the East.

Not moving is good too in the sense that you have a good network established, more oppurtunities in the East, more challenging snow to learn better skiing, better ski instruction, closer to Quebec, more diversity etc. In each path you will make the most of what is happening to you and your life yet try to develop yourself no matter what .  That is the challenge worth living for.

My sister came out to ski with me at Tremblant (she lived in Alberta all the time) the year after my mother died as we wanted to be closer together.  She had a week with instruction at Tremblant.  People were laughing why you go ski at Quebec when you have all the snow in ALberta.  After one week she had nothing but good things to say about Eastern skiing.  She went back to Lake Lousie and she told me, guess what. that she missed the ice in Quebec! Here you go.

当然不是了。主要是看到那些住在犹他的同雪天天去大山爽滑，嫉妒的牙痒痒而已，呵呵。
